Entry #4

Dates: 5/14-6/3

Activities: Assist photographing a wedding, meet with Tammy and Hannah to discuss summer editing/blogging hours

Technical Information: Light meter, 3-4 Canon DSLR Cameras, video light, ceiling flashes, Macintosh desktop computer with Safari

Reflection: As summer approaches, Tammy thought it would be important to meet and discuss what will be expected of Hannah and I in the next couple of months as far as editing wedding images and updating her website/blog. I have also been assigned to help photograph a 6-month old baby in the early summer! All I know so far is that his name is Hayes and Tammy has photographed all three of his siblings before. She says they are a wonderful family and I am really looking forward to meeting them! We also photographed another wedding! Never in my life did I imagine that I would be able to go to this many weddings in such a short amount of time. My friends are a little jealous of me, but I keep telling them that it is much harder to work at a wedding than it is to be a guest! We are on our feet all day long, but it’s worth it. I’m able to learn new things at every wedding!

Before this internship, I wish I had known how busy my days would be. A wedding takes up an entire Saturday, and I have needed to learn to manage my homework time according to the schedule. Thankfully, summer is almost here, so things will get a little bit easier. I’m thankful for the business skills that I have learned through AOIT because they have really helped me when it comes to properly approaching a client.
