Reflection: This week I finally got to meet baby Hayes! He was absolutely adorable and such a great baby to work with. His parents were also wonderful, and they made my job very easy! Hannah and I also photographed another wedding. Anna and her new groom Brooks have been my favorite wedding to date! The wedding took place on Anna’s parents’ property and they decorated it beautifully! I was again able to photograph at this wedding, both with Tammy’s camera to shoot at during the ceremony, as well as with my camera to take shots before and after the ceremony. Hannah was the “stylist” at this wedding, so she stood behind Tammy to make sure everything was “picture perfect” while I was the “director.” I kept track of the bridal party’s names and their relationship to the bride and/or groom as well as the list of shots needed to be taken and the time allowed for each section of the wedding.
It has been a busy June so far as I have also been able to start editing pictures using Photoshop and Bridge. It is my job to load the pictures, open then into Photoshop and adjust the colors, exposure and the Vignette on every picture so they can be transferred to Tammy’s PC computer for further editing. I’m still learning the ropes of Photoshop, but by doing it a few times already, I’m starting to get the hang of it. My original theory was right, this will be a learn by experience type of job.
I feel that my major contribution so far has been to help Tammy complete her tasks more quickly and efficiently by offering an extra set of hands. We can transport materials at a faster pace, take more photographs at different angles, and offer clients their images sooner after their session.
